A LITTLE HELP WITH YOUR PAPERWORK

A long document. An easier way through.

Keep useful pages within reach, with nearby previews and a clear place to return to your work.

A practical Pagekind guideWork with local files

Jump straight to a page.

Enter its number above the thumbnails and press Enter. Ctrl+G takes you to the page-number field. You can also choose a bookmark or use the previous and next page buttons. The selected thumbnail follows distant jumps.

Find a passage, then follow the matches.

Choose Find, type your words and press Enter or choose Find text. Results show nearby text so you can choose the right passage. Use Next match and Previous match, or F3 and Shift+F3, to step through matches across result batches. Reaching the end does not wrap back to the start.

In the 0.65.0 preview, your query stays available when you switch tools or apply an edit, Undo or Redo within the same PDF. Saving a copy also keeps your search words. When Find says Your query is kept, press Enter or choose Find text to refresh the results; returning to the tool does not start a search automatically.

Changing the query clears old results. Switching to another document tab starts a blank query, including when you later return to the first tab. Search words are not kept after the app closes. Searches can be canceled and retried; scanned pages need searchable text first.

Browse nearby pages.

Scroll the thumbnail list to see small previews. Pagekind loads nearby images and reuses a bounded cache, so visiting many pages does not retain a full-size preview for every page. Loading thumbnails leaves the editor available. If a preview fails, choose a page or scroll to retry.

Make more room for the page.

Use Fit page, Fit width or Focus mode to choose the space you need. Focus hides side panels temporarily; the underlying document stays the same.

Put pages in a useful order.

Drag a thumbnail to another position, or use the page movement controls. Each successful move is one change you can Undo. The selected source page follows the move. Save a copy when the order is right.

Finish pending work first.

If a live edit cannot be applied, its draft stays available and the page order stays put. Export or clear pending redaction marks before reordering. A drag from another document or an older version is refused.

The 0.62.0 Windows preview already included lazy thumbnails in the editing workspace. Read & select also offers continuous full-page reading. Back and Forward revisit earlier positions in the main PDF view; learn how view history works. Native controls and a generated 500-page document have been checked without controlling the desktop. These checks do not establish usability for every reader; clean Windows validation remains open.
