A LITTLE HELP WITH YOUR PAPERWORK

Your regular PDFs, ready together.

Keep a named group for a client packet, a class or the documents you return to each month.

A practical Pagekind guideWork with local files

Save the PDFs, then keep their group.

Open your PDFs in document tabs and save any changes. Choose Saved PDF groups on Pagekind start or in All tools. Select Save open PDFs, enter a name and choose the PDFs to include. Save group checks their saved files before keeping the list. A new PDF needs its first saved copy; pending PDF edits, review drafts and redaction marks need to be finished first.

See what is ready.

Choose Open a saved group and pick its name. Each row shows a filename, folder and status. Check files checks the saved files without opening PDFs. Missing, changed or inaccessible files stay in the list with an explanation. Pagekind does not search other folders or silently substitute newer contents. Use Open PDF to choose a moved or changed file, then keep a new group for that saved version.

Open the files you need.

Use the checkboxes, then choose Open selected. Each file is checked again as it opens. The new tabs are ready to select, while the group list and your current work stay in place. A matching open workspace keeps its current edits and view. A protected PDF asks for its password; the group does not remember passwords.

Stop after this file stops before the next file and keeps completed openings. Up to twenty PDFs can stay open across the whole window. Close a tab to make room; an already-open group member can still be reused at that limit.

Handle an interrupted opening.

If an opening result could not be checked, use Check opening result. Pagekind checks that same attempt before opening more group members, so repeating the action does not create duplicate copies. Your other tools remain available. After a window interruption, a completed opening can be found through Recover; an encrypted PDF needs its password again.

Keep the list useful.

The arrow buttons change the member order. Expand Rename or remove this group to update its name or remove the list. These actions keep every PDF and open workspace. If another window changed the list, Reload groups brings in its changes while retaining your name draft for another try.

Know what a group contains.

A group is a local list of saved-file references. It does not combine PDFs, bundle files, store their contents or recover unfinished edits. Up to twenty named groups can be kept, each containing one to twenty direct local PDFs of up to 512 MiB. Full storage keeps existing groups and asks you to remove a list before adding another. Files must remain available in their saved locations.

Included in the 0.65.0 Windows engineering preview. The list stores paths, saved-file identities, page counts and names on this device. Ordinary opening and closing do not add PDFs to a group. PDF passwords remain transient; the privacy note explains the local preference and recovery files.
